How to take a screen shot

For Windows computers:

1. Press the Prnt Scrn button on your keyboard

2. Open up the program in which you want to insert the copied image. For example, open Paint.

3. Press Ctrl + V to paste your copied image. This should insert the screen shot into Paint, where you can crop the image and re-save it.

Common Problems:

a). Occasionally you will find that on certain computers the above instructions do not work. In that case, try the following, which is a more thorough way of achieving the same result:

1. Press Alt + Prnt Scrn buttons simultaneously

NB: On some computers you may be required to use the Fn key as well, in order to access the Prnt Scrn option.

2. Press Ctrl + C to copy

3. Open up the program in which you want to insert the copied image. For example, open Paint.

4. Press Ctrl + V to paste your copied image. This should insert the screen shot into Paint, where you can crop the image and re-save it.

b). Another common issue is when you take your screen shot and paste it but it it only pastes a fragment of the screen rather than the whole screen. If this happens, make sure you are not highlighting only one section of your screen by clicking somewhere else, then try again.
